TRIP TO MACHU PICCHU
Machu Picchu is an Inca city which is located at 2430 masl. At present day there are two ways to get to this city by train. Either we can board the train from Poroy station, which is the closest train station to Cusco (in this case the ride is 3.5 hours), or we can take the train from the Ollantaytambo station in the Sacred Valley (from here the ride takes approximately 1.5 hours).
Whichever option you decide to choose, we will take care and arrange all the necessary things to take you there, including the train reservation, accommodation in a hotel, private guide, the bus tickets to the sanctuary or the entrance tickets. You will have the opportunity to visit this archeological place and be one of the few lucky people who see and experience "the lost city of the Incas". Finishing your visit we will also arrange the transportation back to Cusco.
Machu Picchu
This famous Inca citadel was built around 1450 AD and was abandoned approximately 100 years later coinciding with the arrival of the Spanish in 1533. There are many theories trying to explain why this isolated city was built. Some say it was the place of government for the Incas, others suggest it was a sacred sanctuary where special rituals were performed while still others stating it was a fortress that protected and guarded the entrance to the Sacred Valley and the city of Cusco. One thing is sure, Machu Picchu is an extraordinary example of Inca architecture and its location on the top of Machu Picchu mountain at an altitude of 2430 masl is absolutely breathtaking.
