LIMA THE CITY OF THE KINGS
HALF DAY CITY TOUR
We will explore the capital of Peru and pass through the different phases in the history of the city. During this comprehensive tour we can admire the panoramic view from the Huaca Pucclana, an important ceremonial center constructed of sun-dried bricks in pre-Columbian times. The group will also visit the monumental Historical Center in Lima, which in colonial times was the capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru: old mansions, palaces, squares and churches that made the city lively and colorful.
We will make a stop at the San Francisco church, famous for its network of catacombs – now open for the public – and for its impressive collection of antique books in its library. Our next point of visit is the BCR museum (Banco Central de Reserva del Perú) where we can have a close look at their prescious collection of gold pieces, artifacts from earlier pre-Columbian cultures.
Finally we finish our tour in the modern parts of present day Lima, passing through the residential and financial sectors of San Isidro and Miraflores. Here we can enjoy the beautiful parks and the magnificent view over the Pacific Ocean.
